The Behavioral Health Specialist/Educator will be a vital member of the Family Medicine Residency Program, providing expertise in the integration of behavioral health principles and practices within the primary care setting. The Behavioral Health Specialist/Educator will share responsibilities with the Program Director and other faculty for the design and implementation of the behavioral health curriculum, ensuring residents receive training sufficient to meet and exceed the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Program Requirements for the residency program. The Behavioral Health Specialist/Educator will focus on various domains including behavioral and community health, human behavior, psychiatry, ethics, doctor-patient communication, cultural humility, quality improvement, interdisciplinary approach, and well-being (for residents and faculty). Such training occurs during specialized didactic presentations, during rotations, one-on-one or group sessions with residents, and longitudinally while co-precepting with faculty physicians. The Behavioral Health Specialist/Educator will engage in scholarly activities within the Family Medicine Residency Program.
This position will be engaged in direct patient care at 40% effort and 60% effort will be engaged in support of the residency program to include, but not be limited to, precepting and administrative responsibilities.
