HHSC Kaua'i Region includes Kaua'i Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH), Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH)-both critical access hospitals-along with regional clinics and affiliates. This high-performing organization is on a fast-paced Journey to Excellence, and we are seeking a Regional Chief Medical Officer (RCMO) to join the Executive Leadership Team.

Role Overview:

- 10-25% clinical time; majority administrative leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO, leadership team, and providers to ensure the highest standards of care
- Oversee quality improvement initiatives and compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and accreditation standards
- Advise on cost-effective, efficient medical interventions and patient care strategies

Requirements:

- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Minimum 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a hospital setting
- Have or able to obtain a Hawaii medical licensure
