Per diem schedule Monday- Friday 7am-5pm with required on-call coverage at night and on weekends
PRN position for a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist at our Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center location in Winston-Salem, NC.
Major Responsibilities:
- Administers diagnostic and therapeutic doses under the supervision of an Authorized User.
- Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam. Contacts ordering physician when there are discrepancies. Correlates other test results and laboratory data with exam being performed.
- Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Operates dose calibrators, computers, lab equipment and survey meters.
- Verifies the correct patient by using appropriate patient identifiers and validates proof of identity. Records medical history on requisitions.
- Records dose information, patient data, dates, views and other pertinent information on finished exams.
- Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed. Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional, reconstructed images and/or measurements as instructed.
Registration, and Certification Required:
- Registered with NMTCB or ARRT (N) required. Nuclear Medicine Technology and PET experience required.
- Must meet all competency requirements of a Nuclear Medicine Tech I.
- Current BLS Provider Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
Education Required:
- Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT or NMTCB recognizes in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance.
- May be required to stretch, bend, twist, squat and kneel in performing Diagnostic procedures.
- Vision and hearing for distances of at least 20 feet is necessary.
- Able to carry weights of up to 25 pounds while moving film jackets, supplies or equipment to work areas.
- Significant walking will be required as approximately 50% of work time will be standing.
- 50% of work time will be operating computers, monitors, survey meters and other equipment requiring manual dexterity and use of the hands.
- Precision manual dexterity required for venipuncture and radiopharmaceutical administration.

Pay Range
$40.30 - $60.45

PRN position for a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Knowledgeable and competent in the handling of positron emitting radiopharmaceuticals, computers, and scintillation detection equipment.
