Description
Nebraska Medicine (NM), in proud partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), seeks an inspiring and forward-thinking Transplant Hepatologist to serve as Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program.
NM has exclusively retained SISKIN LLC, the transplant search firm, to conduct a national search for the Medical Director.
A Vision-Driven Leadership Role
This is a rare opportunity to define the next decade of liver transplant care in the region—shaping strategy, expanding regional impact, and advancing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered excellence.
Why This Role Is Special

The multi-organ program is a cornerstone service for the institution and the region, and the team benefits from strong institutional support and a unified culture of teamwork and innovation.
Leadership Responsibilities
Lead program strategy, expand the team, strengthen regional partnerships, mentor faculty, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years post-fellowship, BC in Gastroenterology or Transplant Hepatology, eligible for UNOS primary physician status and Nebraska licensure, with academic rank of Associate Professor or higher preferred.
