Company History
In 1924, the Children’s Hospital of St. Paul opened its doors, marking the beginning of Children’s Minnesota.
The visionaries who founded that hospital were ahead of their time. They recognized that children had unique health needs — they weren’t just smaller versions of adults — and they needed specialized health care in a place made just for kids.
More than 100 years later, that’s as true as ever. And Children’s Minnesota stands today as the only health system in the state devoted entirely to pediatric care. From highly specialized expertise to compassionate, family-centered support, we partner with families to help their most precious people grow up healthy and happy.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Children’s Minnesota is: One of the largest freestanding pediatric health systems in the United States — with two hospitals, nine primary care clinics, seven rehabilitation and nine specialty care sites. The only health system and Level I Trauma Center in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children from before birth through young adulthood. The first and only hospital system in Minnesota and the 13th center in the nation to be verified as a Level I Children’s Minnesota Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons. An award-winning health system, regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital.
